March Highlights

March was a beautiful month.  Lots of beautiful days and lots of playing with these sweet boys.  Lots of walks on the cherry creek path:
He's getting so much braver on his bike!
The saddest sick face you have ever seen...colds are the worst!
Sweet afternoons with this little pal...
My cooking buddies.  They are getting good!
All ready for church!  And Griffin finally went into nursery without crying or getting kicked out!
Griffin loves his naps and often says "thank you" when I put him down...he's the sweetest...
 So much happiness :)
Face Swap is the funniest...Brett and I should never switch faces again! Ha ha.
 Tigger is his best buddy...
And is often fed lunch at the table...
Museum day with my best buds...Griffin was the chef
And Lincoln was the grocery store cashier...

Al Dustin Funeral

At 94 years old, my sweet Grandpa Dustin passed away after a stroke and stay in the hospital.  He wasn't expected to last longer than a day or two after his stroke but he lasted 5 more days before passing away.  He was a tough cowboy all the way to the end.  I will always remember my grandpa giving me hugs and a kiss on the cheek and telling me how much he loved me and calling my his little "I Do."  He was a truly wonderful man and example to me.  The funeral was on Saturday and Brett and the boys and I started the drive down to Farmington on Thursday night.  First we stopped at Royal Gorge Bridge and took in the views...

We stayed the night in Alamosa, CO and the next day drove to Farmington, stopping at waterfall along the way.  It was a beautiful hike and the boys loved the pitstop.

Once we got to Farmington we met up with my family and then went to the viewing.  Lots of my cousins, aunts and uncles came for the funeral so we met at the church and had a get together and shared our favorite stories of Grandpa.  One story that stuck with me I need to record so I never forgot the kind of man my Grandpa was.  Al told the story of when he was younger and remembered going to a rental that my grandpa owned and the woman owed rent for that month and was late.  He went to collect the money and when he walked in the home he could tell that the children were sick and the woman didn't have the money for rent.  He left her home only to go to the grocery store and buy food and medicine for the family.  He brought them back and she was so grateful for his help and understanding.  When Al told this story it made me cry thinking of the love and compassion he must have had for her.  I hope I can treat people the same and be willing to give whatever I have to help others.

It was a wonderful service and I'm so grateful that we were able to go and honor my grandpa and see my family.  I have been terribly homesick and missing my family so it was good to see them.  The drive home was so beautiful.  Griffin was pretty crazy the whole way home and fell asleep as we got off the exit for our house.  Funny Griff!!

Denver Zoo Day

Last Friday it was beautiful weather so we took the boys to the Denver Zoo.  First stop, Lions!
Jacquers....
The geese were funny.  Griffin wanted to hug and attack them, while Lincoln jumped in the stroller to hide and avoid them.  They are so different!

We love days with Daddy!  And of course elephants! :)

Carouseling!  Both boys loved it!

After 2 minutes in the car Griffey was out...I guess that means it was a successful day!!
