Our sweet Griffin was due on January 30, 2014. The story of how he got here is as follows:
We had a false alarm on Sunday morning the 26th. I woke up at 2am and had consistent painful contractions. We had our friend Kaylee Larsen come over and stay at the house while we went to the hospital. They monitored me until 9am when my contractions stopped. They sent us home and I was so disappointed. I thought for sure I was going to have him that day and it was so disappointing to have everything stop.
A few days passed and on Tuesday the 28th as Brett and I were saying our nightly prayers I prayed that my water would break. As I said that I leaked a little and was nervous that my water did break. Nothing happened so I went to bed. At 6am I woke up with some cramping and sat up and my water had broken! We got ready and left for the hospital at 8am after dropping Lincoln off at my friend Sara's house.
When we got to the hospital I was having intense contractions and was dilated to a 3. I walked around for a few hours and got to a 4 when I asked for an epidural. I was in a lot of pain and it was such a relief to get the epidural and they started some petocin. Shortly after that my blood pressure dropped a lot and I had a hard time maintaining consciousness. After a while I was feeling a lot better and was dilated to a 9! They had me start pushing and after 4 contractions of pushing our sweet boy was there! Brett was the best support I could have asked for and was so sweet. I am so grateful for him and the wonderful father that he is. The doctor had him cut the cord too!
Our handsome guy weighing in at 7 pounds 7 ounces and 20.5 inches long.
There is such an incredible spirit that we felt when meeting our new son. He is so special and we love him so much already!! We chose the name Griffin after months of agonizing over the name. Brett liked the name Titus and I like the name Maxwell. We both liked Griffin so we went with what we could both love. We also chose West as his middle name after my Grandpa West Beus. He was a wonderful man and would have loved Brett, Linc, and Griff.
Absolutely perfect from head to toe...
Brett stayed with me in the hospital the first night and we snuggled Griffin for a while...He is so sweet! Such a wonderful memory watching Brett and Griff.
Look at all that long, dark hair! Although the roots are blonde....only a matter of time before he is completely blonde!
Lincoln came and met him the next day and was pretty cute with him. Mostly he ignored him but he gave him a couple kisses and a small amount of acknowledgement.
Love my family!
Someone took over my bed...
Griffin ready to go home...
I'm so grateful for sweet Griff. We love him so much. He already fits in so perfectly in our family and I'm so happy he is here. Can't wait to watch him grow!
