Lincoln Starts School

Lincoln started Preschool at Trinity Presbyterian Church and he loves it.  He's in their 3 year olds class, MTTh, 9-12.  He's a little young to be in preschool but we know he will love it and grow from it.  The night before school we got his backpack out and all his school information and went over it with him so he was a little more prepared for the morning.

At 3:30 a.m. he was 2 inches from my face whispering, "I'm going to school today.." which made me laugh out loud.  He was so excited.  I took him back to bed and he went back to sleep.  Once he woke up he went downstairs and got his backpack on.  So happy to be like daddy "going to school."

FINALLY not having to fight him to get a decent picture.  He was so happy he didn't mind me asking him to smile for the picture.

I went inside to get him at the end of class and he was so happy!  He told me he had fun at school which is all I could ask for.  His teachers are Miss Donna, Miss Betsy, and Miss Laurie.  They are older, southern women with a serious love for children.  They are so sweet and Lincoln loves them.  On his 3rd day of school I went in to get him and Miss Laurie kissed him on the cheek and said good bye and Lincoln said, "Goodbye Miss Laurie (Worrie), I love you."  It made me cry.  He really does love school and his wonderful teachers.  Miss Betsy told me one of the days that he is the sweetest boy in the class.  So proud of him!!  We are so grateful we have him in school!
1. Lincoln.
2. Griffin eating Lincoln's school project.
3. His wonderful teachers.

Constitution Day

Yesterday we went to Constitution Day at James Madisons Montpelier.  We started the morning by going to Olivia Awerkamp's birthday party, and then we headed to the church for our ward activity, a tailgate for the UVA/BYU game.  We were about 30 minutes from Montpelier so we decided to head over for the festivities.
The boys LOVED the fries and donuts.  Delish!  Brett and I took turns touring the mansion since it took a little while and the boys are not into history...

It's so educational and fun to go to these foundations of the founding fathers.  Those men were truly inspired to help create such an amazing country.  It's so inspiring to be there!

Lincoln reading with Dolly and James Madison...

They had a juggler for the kids entertainment and Lincoln surprisingly sat and watched for a long time.  He's getting so fun now that he's understanding more of what is going on in the world.
My phone died after we took this picture but after we went and sat in the shade (since it was really hot) and watched the hot air balloon get set up which was really cool.  We left shortly after and went home and watched BYU win over UVA.  Such a great day!!
