Old Man Jammies

First off what a fabulous weekend...
On Friday I met up with my mom and grandma for lunch and shopping.  It was a blast!  For those that haven't been to Nordstrom Cafe, go!!  Then Lincoln and I met up with my best girlfriends from high school and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner together.  I love them so much.  I'm so lucky to have such beautiful friends in my life.  It's crazy how much all of our lives have changed and where we are now compared to 5 short years ago.  So much has happened!!

Second, I love Lincoln.  Seriously, look at that face!  I love being a mom to such a wonderful little man.  One of my girlfriends asked me over the weekend and I realized I haven't written much on my experiences yet as a mom.  I have to admit that the first few weeks were really hard for me, emotionally and physically.  Physically I was extremely weak and I got a terrible infection that set me back a lot.  Emotionally, it was so hard too.  I loved my little baby so much but it was hard to have Brett's attention on 2 people now, instead of him just having me.  It was different than I thought it was going to be and I was so exhausted from waking up so much in the night and it was all so hard.  After 2 weeks I got my schedule together and my hormones started to equalize, which we were all grateful for, and life was so wonderful.  I seriously am so obsessed with Lincoln.  He makes me so incredibly happy.  It is so wonderful to serve my little boy and my husband each day.  I couldn't ask for a more fulfilling calling.  God has been so good to me to bless with such wonderful boys.
Lincoln is such a stud.  He has been sleeping through the night since week 5 for the most part.  Sometimes he wakes up for a few minutes and then doses off again.  I usually put him down at 10 and he wakes up between 6 and 8.  He is such a doll.  Lately he has started sucking on his hand, his whole hand ha ha.  It is adorable and it makes the funniest little sound.  He is smiling so much and is so fun.  I love giving him baths in the morning.  He smiles and is loving exploring the water and how it feels.  I read him books during the day and he just stares at the pages in awe.  The picture above and below are him in his jammies, we call them his "old  man jammies".  He is so fun to dress.
This weekend marks the 3 year anniversary of me and Brett meeting each other.  On our first date we went to an indian pow wow and then ate Wendy's in a pine tree and talked for hours.  And now, three years later, we are married and have a baby.  Geez!!  I'm so blessed.  Yesterday Brett, me, and Linc spent the whole day together.  We went to Brett's school and hung out with him while he worked on school stuff and then we came home, ate dinner, and watched (an edited version, so nice to watch movies without all the swear words and bedroom scenes) Forrest Gump.  Brett had never seen it before and it's such a great movie.  And today was a fabulous day as well to finish off the weekend.  We went to church, came home and took naps, and went for a fun walk.  I love my life!

1. Wonderful Weekend with my little family and cute friends!
2.  The book The Help!
3. New chocolate chip cookie recipe...so good!  My mouth is grateful for it, but my hips are not ;)
Have a great week!!

2 Month Check Up

Last week Lincoln had his 2 month check up.  The nurse came in and Lincoln was so happy, smiling when they took his temperature, giggling when he got all naked, making cooing sounds as they poked and prodded...I was so proud, he is such a good boy!!  They measured him 3 times because he grew 3 inches in 4 weeks, which is extremely unusual.  When the doctor came in he measured him again because he thought the nurse did it wrong.  Nope, just a long little one like his dad!!

Stats:
Weight: 11.77 lbs. (54%)
Length: 24 in. (73%)
Head: 16 in. (68%)

Just your healthy little boy!  After the doctor left the nurse came back in for his immunizations.  It was so sad. We both cried.  But, the picture above is 30 confusing minutes after, so yeah, overall he handled it well.

1. Lincoln slept 10-9 last night. Yea!
2. 5 more weeks until the cruise :)
3. BYU in the sweet 16!

The Monarchs

Thursday morning I called my mom crying because I was exhausted from a long night up with Lincoln. He had been awake all night from his appointment with the doctor the day before. She calmed me down, because of the fabulous mom she is, and invited me to go to St. George with her, my dad and Trevor in about 30 minutes. I said yes! I needed a break so badly. I quickly put some things together and 30 minutes later I was out the door.
Trevor is on a comp baseball team, The Monarchs, and they had a tournament on Thursday and Friday. The boys are so cute. It's not T-Ball...it's serious. The boys had a pep talk before one of their games and they were told to put their mean game faces on and they did! They walked out on to the field with their toughest faces on.
The weather was awful on Thursday, but on Friday the sun came out and it got hot! My mom and I enjoyed sitting in the sun watching the games and holding Lincoln.
I promise I didn't mean to do this, but at the game I realized that Lincoln and I were twiners...yea, I just love my baby so much that I want to match him all the time :)
Jeans...Whit shirt...Red jacket....so funny. (at least he didn't have a scarf on ;)
Trevor is such a stud and did so great! He pitched in a couple of games and did so well. I couldn't believe how fast his little arm could throw the ball. It was so cute to have my dad cheering on his 11-year-old son and at the same time holding his 9-week old grandson.
Trev is number 24, just like Ken Griffey Jr. and he loves it.
Great weekend!!

1. Grateful to come back home to my wonderful husband and a clean house!
2. Mom, Dad, and Trev for inviting me!
3. The Monarchs :)

A Crazy Hair...

Last night after I got home from doing this Brett asked me if I would blog about it and I said no...but upon doing my hair this morning and realizing what I had done I decided I had to. So, here is the new do. I got it done yesterday after wanting to do it for over a year now. I loved my long hair, but I really needed a change. My hair was at the perfect length to hit Lincoln's face and make him sneeze or for him to throw up in...pretty much an everyday occurrence...gross. So, I took the plunge and I'm really happy with it. It was really unhealthy and looked awful, so I'm happy with the change. I have never had short hair before and I like it!

1. Grateful that Brett liked it :)
2. Really grateful that one of my best friends is feeling better!
3. Courage to cut my hair!

Going Private

I know that it's annoying to have bloggers go private, but now that I have cute little boy I want to protect our little family. If you would like to keep reading, please leave your email and I will add you.
Thanks!!

Sweet Style

i don't have many bad days, but today was one of them. first, i have a cold and that has lead my voice to almost completely leave me and that stinks for 2 reasons.
1. i can't talk.
2. i can't talk on the phone to anyone, including holly whom i really want to catch up with.

the second reason today was not fun was because my adorable little boy decided that 2:00am-6:30am would be daytime.
so not cool dude.

so, don't mind me but i am posting pictures that bring me happiness to rejuvenate my soul for today.
pray with me that lincoln will understand that tonight we SLEEP.

this kitchen.
seriously, i don't think i even have to explain why i like this.
little boys room. no, my kids will never have this because you are asking for your kids to be spoiled, but honestly what a sweet room!
love this bed, colors, windows and saying on the wall above
"we are so good together"
me and holly last march in nyc.
i can't wait for this sassy chick to move to provo.
man i love this nursery. if i had an actual bedroom for linc, this is what would inspire it.
ah...i imagine my little children coming home and hanging their backpacks and rain jackets on the trees and coming to find me to tell me about their day...
i love baths. i love lime green baths even more.

ah....i feel so much better. thanks.

Baby Blessing

This last Sunday we blessed Lincoln and it was such a special day! Both our families came down, including some of our grandparents.

The handsome little one himself, all spiffed up and ready to go.
(Yes, I did do his hair super cute, but it never stays and ends up going straight up anyway...)
The blessing was wonderful, even though Lincoln cried through the whole thing. After we went to Bob and Claire's home for dinner with our families and it was so wonderful to have everyone there.
Thanks to everyone who came! It was such a special day and we were so happy to share it with our families.

1. Nights when Lincoln sleeps all through the night.
2. Fun projects!
3. Design blogs.
