2 Wonderful Years

Over Christmas break, Brett and I went out and celebrated our 2 year anniversary on the 27th of December. We both can't believe how fast the time has gone!
To celebrate we went down to Salt Lake and went to Ruby River for dinner. It was delicious! After we went and saw the lights at Temple Square. Sadly, since I had received our new camera days before, I had forgotten to charge the batteries. Thus, this picture is the only temple square picture taken before the loss of battery...so sad. It was so fun to see the lights with Brett. I have been asking him to take me since we met and it was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary.
Since Brett's birthday fell on a Sunday this year, the 26th, we partly celebrated on Sunday and on Monday. Since Brett is such a piano lover I got him some new fun books to jam to along with a stand for his keyboard. He is always finding some creative way to put up his keyboard in the apartment somewhere, so hopefully now it will be easier to jam to his favorite tunes. :)
What a wonderful 2 years that I have been married to my sweetheart! We are so happy and have so much fun together. We can't wait for our little boy to come and increase the size of our family.

Christmas

Christmas this year was so amazing! We were blessed with more than we ever dreamed!! We are extremely blessed to have our families live minutes away from each other, so we got to split up Christmas day between families. We spent the night at my parents and did Christmas morning with my family. It was SO much fun to watch Lucy and Mia react to their Christmas gifts from Santa :). Lucy got a Beauty and the Beast castle that she asked Santa for and Mia got an adorable tent that was just her size. I can't wait to have this little boy and celebrate Christmas with a little man.

The boys playing games that Santa brought.
Holly, Andrea and I looking through the fun things that mom and dad got us-thanks so much!!
Brett got me the greatest gifts! He got me a much needed new camera! It takes awesome pictures and I can't wait to use it more! He also got me a new BYU shirt along with a matching onesie for the little man. I cried! I'm so excited to see our little man wear it-it's adorable!! I got him some clothes, games, a basketball, movies and a couple other things.
The Christmas morning damage being unraveled at the Dustin home...
After our traditional Dustin morning breakfast superb, we went over for another fabulous meal at the Mellors! The grandparents and all of the Mellor family was there and it was so fantastic!
Jackson, Nick, and Candace Christmas morning-they are so adorable! Candace is one of the most pleasant babies-I hope it's genetic! The boys got Toy Story toys and they couldn't have been more excited. Buzz is their ultimate favorite, but Woody and Rex are awesome too. :)
Eating lots and lots of yummy food!!
Brett, Bob and Michael
We were also blessed with gifts at the Mellor home!! We had such a fabulous Christmas this year and we couldn't have been more blessed.

1. Christmas traditions.
2. Lots of yummy food!
3. Being able to see our siblings that live far away-Michael and Staci and Holly and Jansen!

Hello!!

So today I am working on my computer trying to finish a paper due in Biology tomorrow, minding my own business and thinking the little man is asleep inside me. Well, with the laptop on my belly, a kick from down under sends my laptop off my belly where thankfully I catch it saving it from crashing on the floor below. I think he was sick of my fingers bopping the computer up and down right on top of him. But what do I know?

If I was going to write him a letter today, this is what I would say about being pregnant and what I think of him:
Dear little man,
I desperately want you to come out of me soon. I want to meet you and see if you look like your dad or like me (hopefully your dad :)). I am getting very claustrophic and I feel like a human tank. I struggle to bend over. I badly want a pedicure by a cute Vietnamese woman. I love taking baths and turning over in the tub, the water makes me feel weightless. You move so much in the night you wake me up and then you kick my bladder making me feel like I am going to wet the bed if I don't go to the bathroom immediately. But, even after all of this I still love you and can't wait until I meet you 5-6 weeks from now. I can't believe you are finally going to come. It feels like we have been waiting for so long.
Love, Mom

p.s. please be nice to dad when you come out so he won't be scared of you. thanks :)

I love him

I just want to say that I adore my husband.
We have way too much fun together.
I love when he gets home and we tease each other endlessly
and talk in silly voices and say our silly phrases to each other.
That's all I wanted to say.

Fall Sports

Fall Sports are coming to a close for Brett. He has been on two ultimate frisbee teams and a soccer team. All have been so fun for him and fun for me to watch.
The team discussing strategy....
(Sorry for the bad lighting and photography and bad camera...)
This is Team Lightning Tron. It was an ultimate frisbee team that the Electrical Engineers put together and was so funny to watch. The games were complete with matching blue or black Lightning Tron shirts. (And yes, the name is supposed to be nerdy ha ha.)
Brett also was happy to join Steven's soccer team. Soccer is Brett's favorite sport to play and he was so happy to play with them.
Classic kid soccer pic....
Cooling off....

1. Snow!
2. Holly comes soon!!
3. My sweet husband.

Oh Christmas Tree!!

OH Christmas Tree!!!
This year I decided that we needed some sort of christmas tree....and with the budget that I allowed for it this is what we ended up with.....
It is the most wonderful, tidy, odorless, pine-free and most wonderful looking Christmas tree in the world. ;) I love it!! :)

1. Fun day with my mom.
2. It's December!!!!
3. The christmas tree, porch lights, and christmas wreath that grace our humble abode.

Thanksgiving

This year Brett and I headed up to Kaysville on Wednesday to celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday with the Mellor family and it was such a blast!
The eating began with a pancake breakfast from Bob and it was delicious.
The gang. We had the Ezell's (Brett's grandparents), the Mellors, and the Munoz family (a stake president and his family from Spain).
The foot massaging after all the eating...yes, I did massage Brett's feet it just doesn't show in this photo ha ha. P.S. for those asking for belly pics from me I'm afraid this is the best I can do ha ha.
The food!!!

Other than eating away all our days up north, we went to Megamind, went to dinner, played lots of fun games, watched movies, and hung out with the Mellor group. It was such a wonderful week!!!

1. Thanksgiving
2. Family
3. 7 more weeks!!!!

Wednesday Morning

I woke up with Brett, drove him to school, came back home and got back in bed. I couldn't sleep so I turned on a movie, The Majestic. It stars Jim Carrey and I liked it a lot. I finished the movie and then took a shower. Now I am sitting on the couch surfing the web for Christmas and birthday presents for Brett.

Yesterday I had some interesting skin care clients at work. I love hearing peoples life stories. The last client told me that last week her sister died during the deliver of her son. Both the mom and the son died because she bled to death internally and the doctor didn't know. Who tells a pregnant woman this story? Secondly, do woman really still die giving birth? I thought we were past that.

I dreamed last night that I got a C-Section and the scar was a huge X mark on my stomach. I remember getting up in the night to go to the bathroom and thinking that my stomach was sore from the delivery. Isn't that weird? Plus, sleeping is becoming so much harder all of a sudden. I will start out on my left side and sleep there until my left arm goes to sleep then I wake up and switch to my right side. This goes back and forth all night long....

I want to put up a Christmas tree this year but we pretty much have no room. I think I'll be creative and try to come up with some other idea that is "christmas treeeeee" looking. I'll post that later. I love decorating for christmas!!!

There is an empty crib in the other room that already has toys (a soccer ball, Brett's teddy bear from when he was little, an orange moose, and an orange hippo) and blankies and a quilt in it. I wish our little boy was soundly sleeping in it. I can't wait for him to arrive. Although, I'm nervous he's going to be an insane active little guy. I feel like he moves all day and all night. He is growing so much and he kicks out all the time and I can see his feet push out my stomach. It is so crazy to see him move and know that there is a little person inside me.

I'm really excited for Thanksgiving!!! It's one of my favorite holidays of the year. I think it's just the time of season and being with family, but I love it. We're going to be with the Mellors as well as stopping by my aunts home and see my grandpa and my dads side of the family. Can't wait!

I have been trying to cook different things lately cause we have been kind of in a rut for meals. I really wanted homemade pizza the other night with wheat crust and I made it and it was TERRIBLE!!! Someday I want to be a good cook. In the mean time, I'm sorry Brett.

1. Chocolate brownies.
2. Hummus and pita bread

Happy Birthday Bob

Last night we enjoyed a great evening with Claire, Bob and Katie. We went to Los Hermanos on Center Street in Provo and enjoyed some great mexican food.

Afterwards we enjoyed some great birthday chatting at our apartment.
We love having you guys come down! Thanks again and Happy Birthday!

In other news, Brett and I are just busy bees doing work and school. Brett is so busy and is working really hard on his research and his classes. I am almost done with school and can't wait for my early Friday morning Biology class to be done. Every day I feel like I'm getting bigger and bigger and I can't wait for this little guy to come. He still doesn't have a name and he probably won't until the day he is born. He moves all the time and it makes me so happy every time he does. My doctor tells me that his heartbeat is still fast which means he's extremely active and I hope he mellows out a little after he's born....hopefully!

I'm happy to report that Brett just left to his sunday morning meetings in his church clothes and they are clean. :) Josh came last night and we loved having him!! He slept on our couch and headed out this morning. We loved having him!!

1. Josh coming last night.
2. Birthday Bob.
3. Dinner with my family today.

The Dry Cleaning

So last week I thought to myself,
"Hey, I want to be a good wife this week. I will take ALL of Brett's church clothes (shirts, suits, pants, etc...)and get them all nice and cleaned at the dry cleaner."
So, off to the cleaners I went.
I dropped them off.
They told me to return Saturday.
I did.
I was too late.
They closed at 3.
I got there at 3:03.
So sad.
So, Brett wore a very pieced together outfit today and smiled all the way through.
I sure do love him and I'm happy he'll still have me.

A Halloween Spooktacular

The 2nd annual Halloween party and haunted house was held again this year at the Mellor residence (Brett's parents home) and let's just say it was a spooktacular HIT!!!

(Below is Brett's formal invitation for the spooktacular)

Brett, me, and my younger brother Trevor set up the haunted house in the basement storage room....SO spooky!!
I was a witch, Brett was the "It" character (complete with a fake hanging and following people with scary weapons), and Trevor was a variation of a chinese monk and a dead person on a hose...It was such a blast! The whole family went through along with my siblings. It was super scary and way fun!!
Before the scaring we had a spooky dinner made by Claire and it was delicious! It consisted of zombie brain soup, bone daddy breadsticks, and vampire blood beverages. (And of course complete with scrumptious halloween cupcakes.)
Basically you could say it turned out to be a fantastic night!!!!
Hope you had a wonderful Halloween :)

1. The weekend (Yes, we really do live for weekends)
2. It's November!!!!
3. Such a fun and creative husband!

October

some random october thoughts as of late:

last night we had our first girls night halloween witches party. it was such a blast!! i will have to post pictures later. kylee hosted at her beautiful home and at dinner said i was the biggest at the table. we made jokes about it the rest of the evening. we played games, ate wonderful food, caroline tied me up like a mummy in toilet paper, and then we sat and talked and talked....i love my girlfriends. i miss them already.

brett is sleeping in the other room. yes, it's 10, but he waited for me to get home last night, which was very late. he also did the dishes while he was waiting, isn't he the sweetest? gotta love him. guess who woke me up? yes, the little man. he was moving the most he ever has this morning. i couldn't tell if he was angry or just having a good time, but enough to wake me and it made me so happy.

i'm getting more afraid of labor and delivery. it seems like every time it comes up someone has a terribly horrible story and shares every detail assuring my insides that it's going to be awful. i bet it will be. i bet it will hurt really, really bad....but at least at the end of it we get to take our son home and enjoy him. :) i can't wait!

more than any other time of year fall makes me the happiest. the leaves outside our door are yellow and my car is directly under the biggest part of the tree, thus every morning it is covered in leaves. i love it!

today is my first saturday in months that i don't work. it feels magical. work is really getting to me. it makes me so sad. i love my clients and i love working on skin everyday but, seriously, i'm losing it. not losing it with what i do there just with the people that work there...and that's as far as i'm going to go with that because i don't know if any of them read this....i don't think they do, but you can never be too careful...

tomorrow is the primary program. i hope it will work out. we have 2 primary children and basically a million nursery children. the nursery kids are singing all the songs with us and i'm pretty sure that it's going to be the lifeless children that don't sing alongside with me singing all the words to follow the prophet...it's gonna be awesome...

a couple weeks ago one of my favorite little girls from our ward, bailey, was talking to me after church was over. her dad came to pick her up and said that they were going to go home and make their beds and help daddy do the dishes. she turned to him and said, "but daddy i don't want to, it's just not my favorite thing". SO cute!! i love little kids. i can't wait to hear what comes out of our little guys mouth.

thanks to katie, brett and i are attending the byu football game today. we are so excited. i really hope they win because it's turning out to be a rather pitiful season. go cougars!

i love life right now. i'm so excited for our son to come. i love feeling him move inside me, especially when he gets the hiccups. it's so cute! i love this time of year and i'm so happy i'm pregnant during this time. there's halloween, thanksgiving, christmas and my sister is coming out with her family in december to january. i think these last couple months are going to fly by and that makes me so happy! we finished putting the crib together last night, finishing it off with a couple more blankies, a stuffed moose, and a beautiful crib skirt that my mom made. thanks mom! i will post pictures of that as well. we're so excited!

1. my sister holly and the adorable things she sent me!!
2. a saturday off.
3. girlfriends :)

Dinner and a BYU Tour

This last Friday was such a blast! Bob and Claire came down to explore the land of Provo with Brett, Katie, Steven and me. We first met at Texas Roadhouse and enjoyed a scrumptious dinner.

The gang...

After dinner we took a grand BYU tour to show Bob and Claire where Brett, Katie and Steven spend their time during the week at school. Above is Brett and Bob at his graduate desk.
This is the room where Brett spends most of his time, aka home away from home. All of his experiments are run in this room on the machine in front of us.
Brett explaining his research to us...
Katers and Stevey....
We also gave a grand tour of our humble abode. Above is our new couch. We absolutely love it!!
The End.
Yesterday was fun. I always love Sundays when I get to hang out all day with Brett. I am working on honing my cooking skills, which is quite the ordeal. I made bread last night and then left to a temple fireside. I left Brett in charge of putting it in the oven and baking it. I was happily surprised to come home and find that he had taken it out at the perfect time, it was delicious!
We are so excited for our little boy. We haven't decided on any boy names, they are hard! We want a solid boy name, you know one of those boy names where you know it's a boy and not some cutesie name that a cute burnette girl in his 3rd grade class would end up having as well and then he would be scarred for the rest of his life...That's the kind of name I'm talking about. Any suggestions?

1. Watching my aunts kids this weekend with Brett.
2. Wonderful weekend.
3. 14 more weeks!!!!!!!!

25

25 Weeks
I never thought that I would put a picture of me pregnant on here, but today by myself I decided that for journal keeping purposes I would post a prego pic. Yes, I feel huge!!! I still can't fathom that I am going to continue to get larger. On Saturday I had my first stranger ask me when I was due and it made me so happy! At least I look pregnant and not just like I have a huge gut. On another note, this last weekend was so fun!! I love relaxed weekends, especially conference weekend! I loved it!!! Elder Uchtdorf and President Monson are my favorites. When I hear them speak I feel the spirit testify that they are true prophets of God and it always feels like their talks are directed towards me. In honor of President Monson's sweet talk yesterday about gratitude I want to mention 10 things today that I'm truly grateful for.

1. We got the crib set up and I can't wait for our little boy to arrive!
2. Sundays with Brett.
3. Fun painting day with my mom last Friday.
4. Our jobs and our opportunity to go to school.
5. Conference weekend at Uncle John's home, such a great tradition.
6. Family, both me and Brett, my family and Brett's. We are so blessed!
7. It's raining!
8. Only 15 more weeks to go being prego!
9. The gospel of Jesus Christ.
10. Wonderful friends.

23 x 3

This year I had such a fantastic birthday!! It was my "extra" golden birthday because I turned 23 on the 23rd on the 23rd week of pregnancy. Woo! Brett went the extra mile on my birthday and made it a truly wonderful day. He woke up and made me delicious crepes with strawberries. Then I took Brett to school and went down to Salt Lake to go baby shopping with my mom. I always love spending shopping days with her, we always have such a good time. We found fabric to make a quilt for my little one for his crib and got some really fun extras for his room and crib. I can't wait to set it up!! We went to lunch and had a wonderful time, thanks so much mom!!

After I got home I went and picked up Brett from school. We went to the Olive Garden for dinner, which I LOVED, and it was so fun. I love that I married such a creative and fun man. He made me a crossword puzzle and the words were inside jokes between us. I had to find the words before dinner came in order to get my first present, which thankfully I did because it was an ipod shuffle!!! I was so ecstatic! I have wanted an ipod again in my life for so long. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and then went and got frozen yogurt.
This is me with my loot. I got 3 Charleston Chews, an amazing white watch, a pink ipod, earrings, and a cute sweater. Brett did such an incredible job!! Thanks so much honey :).
The next day we joined my family at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner for my birthday. Sadly I forgot to take a picture but it was so fun! Plus, the dinner was delicious. All in all it was a wonderful birthday. I couldn't ask for a better husband or a better family.

1. a wonderful birthday!
2. when brett feels out little guy kick.
3. my birthday presents!

Dreaming

I had a dream last night about our little boy that's currently growing inside me. Since I think about him almost all the time, it's no surprised that I dream of him as well. Last night I dreamed about delivering him at the hospital and taking him home with me and Brett. I dreamed about taking him on walks with me around the neighborhood and running with him in the rain. I dreamed about what he will look like and if he will have my blue eyes or Brett's brown eyes. I think he will have blonde hair since we both did, but there's always surprises. I think he will love legos like Brett did and want to play with his daddy everyday when Brett gets home. I think he will be adventurous and love to read. I can't wait to meet him and hold him in my arms. He is growing so much right now and moving all the time. I think he will be really active and love to play. I hope he will be like his daddy. (Come on, who wouldn't with that face?)

1. Strawberry Charleston Chews (I crave these every day ha ha thankfully I only allow myself 1 a week).
2. The stair stepper at the gym.
3. Cooler weather.

It's a Boy!

Today was an absolutely fantastic day. We started the day by taking a visit to the doctor, a much anticipated, exciting visit to the doctor. We got the big ultrasound and found out that on January 18 we are expecting a
BOY!!!!
To be quite honest I felt like it was going to be a girl after our last appointment. Surprisingly, in the last minute of the 30 minute ultrasound, he finally decided to show himself. I was very surprised but so, SO very excited!!! I was also excited to find out that I am actually 21 weeks this week (to those that have not been pregnant, giving a pregnant woman one more week off her expected waiting time is basically as good as Christmas). I cried when she said it's a boy only because it made it feel so much more real. Brett stood next me absolutely surprised and totally excited. I have been telling Brett lately how much it moves and how crazy it feels and he hasn't really understood. It was so fun to see him watch the baby move like crazy. He was really surprised to see how active our little guy is. He's going to be a jumping, energetic little guy just like his daddy. For me it was so amazing to see how developed he is. He has a heart with all four valves beating like crazy, a brain with all its components, kidneys, fingers, toes, bones, a cute little face and is so miniature.

1. My boys.
2. No work tomorrow and shopping with mom.
3. Cooler weather

What a wonderful day :)
