Sarah's Shower

My darling friend, Sarah Bylund, is expecting a little boy.  We had to squeeze in a shower for her before the end of law school, even though she was only 13 weeks.  We did a milk and cookies shower and it was really fun.

I really love these girls-me, Kaylee, Sarah, Jan, and Candice.

1. Wonderful friends.

Last DC Hurrah

My girlfriends and I had to have one last DC hurrah.  We went to Founding Farmers (absolutely DELISH), went to the temple, and visited Rachel Harding and her darling twins.  Such a fun day!  Special thanks to Brett for watching the boys all day :)

Lincoln

I was just tucking Lincoln into bed.  We read a couple books and then he sang "I Know That My Savior Loves Me".  After He said, "Jesus loves me mommy."  I said yes and then he said, "He told me.  Jesus told me he loves me."  It came out of nowhere and he was so sure of what he said.  It was so sweet and I don't ever want to forget that he said that so I had to write it down.  What a sweetheart.

Hilton Head, South Carolina

My family left today from Charlottesville from a great trip that we had together!  Last Friday, March 27, we drove down to Hilton Head, SC and met my dad, mom, and Trevor.  It was so wonderful to see them!  I have been crazy homesick this semester and it was serious therapy for my soul to see their smiling faces.  My boys were so happy to see them too! Lincoln sat at the front door the morning we were leaving, and for almost 2 hours next to his "lightning mcqueen" luggage asking me when we were leaving.  He was so happy to see them and be at the "HO-Tell".
The hotel and the beach were so incredible and so fun...Lincoln was in heaven!
My favorite part was biking on the beach.  I have never seen a beach like the beach there.  The beach is long and flat and easy to ride a bike on.  So relaxing and beautiful!

Lincoln LOVED riding behind Papa.  He made up a song about it, "We're riding a BIKE! I'm riding a BIKE!"
 Sunday duds...
Sunday bike ride brought us to this stream where a gator was waiting for us...yikes!

Great times playing Ticket to Ride...
On Monday, while the boys went golfing, mom and I went to the outlet mall.  Lincoln got to ride Thomas so he felt like it was fair :)...
 Dinner at Mellow Mushroom...
 Riding bikes to the lighthouse...

The Harbor Town Lighthouse was so beautiful and worth the walk to the top!  Gorgeous!

Griff got tuckered out on the ride home...
On Wednesday we drove to Savannah and jumped on a trolley for a ride and tour around the town.  So much history, fun shops, and delicious food there!  Lincoln loved the trolley!

The most amazing cookies....May my cookie jar never be empty...

The river was so beautiful and it was so fun to watch the big ships coming through and under that big bridge...
Lots of french influence in Savannah and I was eating it up!

AMAZING Shrimp and Grits for lunch.  Feeling so southern....

And no trip to Savannah would be complete without an ice cream cone from Leopold's Ice Cream...

On Thursday we went to Stack's for breakfast, which was delish...
 Oh Brett....

 Griffey loved the pancakes...
After breakfast we went to the Mini Golf, where Lincoln learned to putt the ball into the hole from 1 foot away from the hole...

 Back to the bikes!!
That night we went to Low Country Backyard.  Amazing southern cuisine.

On Friday we drove back to Charlottesville with Mom, Dad and Trev as well!  Saturday was a power packed day of C'ville tourism.  First stop: Monticello.
It was windy but a beautiful day to be on "little mountain"...Dad was loving the portico and I wouldn't be surprised to see one in his backyard this summer...

 Got duck donuts...of course!
We took dad and T to Brett's school for a tour and then tried to watch conference, but the connection was pretty poor.  That night we went to the downtown mall and visited some shops and then dined at Bang!  We love that place...

It was such a wonderful trip!  It made me so incredibly happy to see my family and get to show them my town.  Lincoln keeps asking where Nana, Papa, and Trevor went but we are happy that we get to see everyone so soon.
