We moved to Parker, Colorado! It's a little surreal but it's going well so far. Since moving in, Brett has had 2 weeks before he starts work. We have gotten lots done on the house, got the cars registered, drivers licenses, figured out the area and lay of the land. We also have had lots of fun days. Like the following:
Here's our house! Thankful our pods arrived!
Lots of great park days. There are lots of great parks around, seems like I find new ones every week!
The Monday after we got here we went to a baseball game downtown. It was such a blast!! We took the train down, which the boys LOVED. Lincoln was the entertainment on the train and everyone loved watching him saying, "We're riding on the train!!"
Once we got to Union Station it was raining. We walked down to the Rockies merchandise store by the stadium and bought Lincoln a hat. He was so happy! Then we walked back down to Union Station and ate some dinner inside. By the time we finished, the rain had stopped and we walked back down to the stadium. We got the cheapest seats in the house ($5!!) and got ice cream. It was so fun and Lincoln loved the stadium and the atmosphere. The game was pretty far away so he wasn't super into the game.
We rode the train back and Griffin was the entertainment on that ride. Everyone loved him. He was sooo happy. Love that sweet little boy.
On Friday we were planning on going camping, but we got rained out. Instead, we had a campout at home. We set up a tent in the family room, ate tinfoil dinners, and roasted smores on the stove. We watched Hercules in the tent and then Linc slept inside. He loved it.
We have gone on a couple hikes, but our favorite has been South Valley. It was beautiful!! It was the perfect length for the boys and the views were spectacular.
There were lots of rocks along the hike that you can hike on and Lincoln loved that.
More park days!
Brett has really enjoyed this time off to hang out with the boys and me. We are so proud of him and all he does for our family. He really is a superhero!!
It is really exciting to be in this new phase of life, but also really scary. It's so odd to not be students anymore and to be moving on. Each day Brett leaves around 8 and gets home a little before 7. He works hard and is learning lots. We miss our families lots but we know that we are meant to be here and are enjoying it.
