Mack is finally here! I can't believe it. He is such a heavenly dream! I can't believe I have three sons. It was quite an adventure getting Mr. Mack here. Last Wednesday I was having contractions every 6 minutes and I thought that my water broke (little did I know when your doctor strips your membrances you can lose lots of fluid) so I thought that my water had broken as well. I had been awake almost all night crying with each contraction, they were really painful and close together but I really didn't want to call any of my friends to come watch the boys. I called my mom and she flew out as Brett and I headed to the hospital after dropping Lincoln off at school. The contractions had pretty much died down by the time we got there, plus they tested me and my water had not broken, so the nurse sent us home. My mom flew in that afternoon and the waiting game began! Basically my mom and I did everything possible to get the contractions to get closer together. The contractions varied in intensity for the next several days but never getting closer than 6 minutes apart. We went shopping, ate lots of delicious food, Brett and I went to La La Land, and we played with the boys. We also did lots of walking, which proved to be just really good exercise. So Monday finally arrived (the date I was scheduled to be induced), and Brett and I left the house at 7am, leaving mom to watch the boys and feeling so relieved they were in her hands. When we got to the hospital they got me in a room and started watching the contractions and I was 4 minutes apart and they were getting more intense. I guess my body knew it could finally go into labor or something! It was pretty funny. Dr. Lane came in and broke my water which was one of the worst parts of the entire day. She had to go so far into me, telling me that he was super far back and that my water wouldn't have broken on my own. After she broke my water the contractions intensified but not fast enough. They started me on level one petocin and the contractions got closer and at 1:00 I was still dialated to a 4. I had gotten the epidural and then they pumped up the petocin to a level 4. I could still feel the contractions but they were much less intense and I was able to fall asleep. When I was sleeping I dreamed that I was ready to push and felt tons of pressure. I woke up and told the nurse that I felt like I needed to push and she checked me and I was ready to go! She called Dr. Lane in and began prepping for delivery. I was shocked that in an hour I had gone from a 4 to a 10! Brett and I had been prepared for an after dinner baby ha ha. Once Dr. Lane got in the room I went through 2 big contractions of pushing and he was out! Brett cut the cord and they put him on top of my chest. I couldn't believe he was here!

The delivery couldn't have gone better, I didn't tear or have to be cut and stitches weren't necessary. It was so great!
I love this guy! Such a wonderful support through all of it and the greatest dad to our boys.
We finally got into our recovery room around 6 and mom and the boys got there at the same time. The boys were so excited about the room and my bed (ha ha) and were so fun meeting their new brother. I love my boys! I love that my mom was there to meet him so fresh and new. He loves her already!
Lincoln was very set on naming the baby Sam, but after a game time decision we had to tell him that Heavenly Father told us the babys name was Mack and that when he's a dad he can use the name Sam. He seemed semi-satisfied with that and after a few days stopped calling him Sam and now calls him Mack. Also noteworthy, Griffin wanted to name him Cars....So there's that...
Night snuggles with my boys! Brett stayed the first night with us and it was so fun to snuggle our sweet baby while my mom took care of everything at home. So grateful for her!!
Poor Mack was extremely bruised from the "crash landing" delivery. Thankfully a week later and his coloring is so much better. His little eyes are also pretty blood shot but doing lots better. He came down so fast they said it just bruised him up a bit.
So handsome and heavenly!!!
I'm so grateful for this sweet boy! When I hold him I feel like i have known him forever and have always had him. Before he was born I was so sad I wasn't having a girl but after holding Mack the hole in my heart was filled and I'm so incredibly happy. He is the sweetest little angel and so content and fits right in with our family. I'm so grateful for him! I swear my hurt could burst! I just can't look away from him, I just want to snuggle him and stare at him all day. Love you Mack!!!
Note: Nicknames have already started....Mr. Mack, Macaroon, Mackie, Mackers, Mackelroy...Can't wait to see what else Brett comes up with!
