New Carpet Too!

Getting new carpet required almost all we owned to be put in
the kitchen and Brett's closet. It was intense!!

In the end it was worth it to have our apartment totally torn apart
because we now have new carpet without any stains!!
Plus it smells better too! Ha ha... :) yea!!

FHE July 6

Happy Birthday America!

The Fireworks Crew....Josh, Trev, and Brett

My hot husband... :)

This year's fourth of July was so fantastic!! On Friday Brett and I drove up to Brett's home and hung out with Matt and Laura. We had dinner, played some games that didn't quite make sense, and watched some Brittish Office episodes. It was so fun to be with them! We slept there Friday night and on Saturday we went to the Layton parade. Brett played in the parade as part of the Layton Performance Ensemble with some friends from Drumline in High School. My family, which included my mom, dad, Josh, Trevor, Deven and Andrea, went to watch him. Layton sure is an interesting town. There were things there that you would never see at a Kaysville parade ha ha. Brett came past near the end of the parade and they were so awesome!! Brett was the main leader and so he had them play a song where they all run into the crowd. Brett ran up to me and tapped his lips with his stick and I kissed him. It was so cute!!! :) Oh, I love him so much. My family was shocked that he did that as was I but I loved it. We watched them march off and left a little after.

Later that afternoon we all went to see the new Disney Pixar movie UP. Best...movie...ever!! It is one of my new absolute favorite movies. Within the first five minutes I cried. It was one of the most touching, moving, inspiring, uplifting movies I have seen in a long time. I recommend it!!! After the wonderful movie we grabbed some dinner at one of my families favorite places Corbins. Brett and I hadn't been there since our wedding dinner and it was a great memory to go back.

That night for the 4th party it was sad to hear that Lagoon wasn't going to set off any fireworks. Sad. I have watched them almost every 4th of July my WHOLE life. We watched the Oakridge ones but it just wasn't the same nor as good. Josh, Trevor and Brett were our firework Piros and put on a good show for us in our backyard too. Overall though it was a fantastic fourth of July!! Hope everyone else had a great time as well :).

out sheet metal from the local metal shop full of scary foreigners....

The successful magnetic board put in place...still a lil wet by the way
so it's a little shiny at the moment...

The result!! A cleaner, cuter office area!!!

An Outing at the Nutty Putty Caves

Well, last Saturday some friends of ours invited us to go with them to explore Nutty Putty Cave in Santaquin. I had heard about them from my family so we were excited to go. We drove out, just 5 of us, to Santaquin, and then some side streets, gravel drives, and dirt roads out to rolling hills by Utah Lake. We drove up a rather large hill and got out to find the cave. We finally found it on a hill. It is just a hole in the ground as you can see. Steve and Rachel went in first to unlock it from inside. The cave is currently closed to the public but if you get on a seperate sign up sheet you can go at a selected time with the password to get in. Brett went in after and then I went down into the hole and to my sad surprise the hole to crawl in through was smaller than I dreaded. It was an extremely small hole with a puddle of water on the ground. I couldn't see anyone in the cave but I could hear them. I finally made my way in army crawling and got through. It was so SCARY!! Once I got in the cave I could stand and was feeling alot better. We crawled and climbed around in the cave for a couple of hours. The cave goes a little over 300 feet down into the earth. There are steep slopes, ropes for grip, and ladders for climbing all through the cave. It was awesome!! We did make it out alive, although very, very wet!

2. I worked today!
3. Yesterday was a great Fathers Day. We love our dads!

The Scottish Festival.

For more joy reading this post, please read with a Scottish accent.

As it turns out...everyone is Scottish!! On Friday Brett's friend Jon gave Brett 2 tickets to the Scottish festival for free. Brett and I had never heard of the Scottish Festival at Thanksgiving Point but it was free so we decided to check it out. We made our way up there and finally got in after about 3 false openings to the outdoor festival. Once we got in we watched the family contest of who can throw the keg the farthest...a riveting sport. We followed a path and along the way there were different tents with "Clans" that had their family history. We found a tent with books on all the family names that were Scottish...we found both Mellor and Dustin!! Who knew?! We also found a tent filled with old time fighting weapons. This was one of the stops that Brett really enjoyed. At the "Ross Clan" tent, Brett convinced an old man to read me a poem about how his love for me was deeper than the reddest rose. Brett kept taking pictures and I tried my hardest not to laugh. By the end of the festival I was tired and Brett was very lost...needless to say that next years 38th annual Scottish festival we probably won't be joining, kind of a one time deal.

1. it's not burning hot yet!
2. my sleeping husband in the other room.
3. I was able to see my beautiful, loving sister for a month!! :)

Oh Brettie...

I just wanted to tell you how much I love you!! Thank you for being such an amazing husband and best friend to me. I know I have been sick this week and kind of a pain, but thanks for putting up with me and making me so incredibly happy!! You're everything plus way more of what I ever dreamed and I can't believe you're mine. I have never been this happy in my life and I'm so, so happy I have you forever! Even though you're
crazy,
silly,
sometimes you make the bathroom smell funny,
snore,
and are a little on the sillier side,

I LOVE YOU because you are
extremely handsome,
kind,
love me,
are amazing
and all of the above!

I can't wait for you to get home. Thanks for loving me and always being there for me. :)
