Salt Lake Children's Museum

We went to the Children's Museum down in Salt Lake.  It was such a fun place and I'm so sad I hadn't been before.  It had tons of fun things to play with and Lincoln was in heaven!  Michael, Staci, Claire, and the kids took us and it was awesome.  

Sundance Date Night

The other night we went to the Sundance Music Festival with Katie and Mat.  It was so fun and so beautiful!  The orchestra played Broadway songs.  We had such a great time.  Thanks for inviting us Katie!

DIY Headboard

Thanks to mom and dad, we have a beautiful headboard!  Thanks to my sister and others on pinterest, I got up the courage to make my own headboard.  My mom and dad helped me make it and I couldn't have done it without them.  We bought the wood, padding, covering, nailheads (from the scary neighborhood with barred windows...), and got to work.

 Then they helped me staple the fabric on really tight...and then we put in the nailheads and laughed through the whole thing. :)  

 It turned out so gorgeous!

Happy 4th

The fourth of July is always such a great day!  This year we went to the Centerville Parade and Lincoln actually enjoyed a lot of it.  We saw Brett's friend Mike leading the Davis Marching Band which was really fun.

 Papa was so nice to walk around with Lincoln during the parade...

 The Farmington North Stake (my parents stake) made such an amazing float.  It was a great time.

 After the parade we went to Costa Vida for some delicious mexican with my family.  Great beginning to a great day!

After Lincoln's nap we went over to the Mellors for some pool party time.  Lincoln loves walking back and forth on the step.  He is so funny.

 Grandma and Grandpa Ezell came over and we enjoyed another fabulous meal by Claire.  

 After dinner Papa read Lincoln a book and then we watched Inception.

PhD

On Wednesday Brett defended his dissertation at BYU at 10am and passed!!! 

 We got to the Clyde Building at BYU and went to a conference room where Brett gave a 45-minute presentation to 5 professors and spectators from the department about his research called "Liquid Dielectric Spectroscopy and Protein Simulation".  Brett's parents, my parents, and Trevor came to support him as well.  We are so grateful for all the support!

 After he presented, the spectators left the room and the professors were left to question him Brett.  They questioned and grilled him for about an hour.  After, Brett left the room so the professors could make the final decision of whether or not he would graduate.

 After 5 minutes Brett was called back in and congratulated on his research and was passed.  We were so happy and so relieved to be done.  Yea for walking in August!

Lagoon Trail

On Tuesday night me and my family went to Lagoon Trail.  It has been so fun to have Holly and the girls in town and be able to spend time with them.  We put together a picnic and went down to Lagoon Trail with scooters and the wagon.

 Lincoln got really tired and rested on me the whole walk back.  I love that boy so much, especially when he will cuddle with me!

Park City

Friday we went up to Park City with our Dustin family.  We were planning on going to Island Park to spend the weekend, but unfortunately the weather was bad so my mom made quick plans for Park City instead.  It was so perfect and couldn't have worked out better.  On Friday we went to dinner in Farmington at a really yummy pizza place and then headed up to Park City to the Westgate Resort by the Canyons.  

 We went swimming and played lots of Rage that night. It was so fun!

 The next day we headed up to the Alpine Slides while all the boys went golfing.  The weather was so perfect.  On the lift up to the slides, Mia said to my mom, "Nana, this is the best idea ever!"  She is so cute.

 After the slides, and Lincoln riding some planes, we went to Baja Cantina with the girls and the guys came and met up with us after.  Then the girls went shopping at the outlets and we found some great stuff!  Shopping with the girls and no kids was pretty amazing.

I'm so glad when daddy comes home...

Everyday after we get home Brett and Lincoln go in our room and Brett tosses Lincoln on the bed.  It is so funny and Lincoln loves it so much!
