The Haunted Storage

Our Halloween :0

Zombie Brain Stew....

"Bone Daddy Breadsticks" and "Vampire Blood Beverage"...

Oh, the festivities! And sorry...no costumes...

Making yummy caramel apples...mmmmm.....

Brett about to jump out and scare the innocent civillians about to walk
by in his hockey mask and gear....And yes...a scary hanging santa...

The Maze...
We put Bob & Claire's storage room under the garage to good use this Halloween. We went up on Saturday to party with Katie, Steven, Laura and Matt for good ole' Halloween. We started the haunted evening with dinner (spooky! As seen above...), and then ventured to create haunted houses. Brett and I made a haunted storage in the massive storage space located underneath the garage. It wrapped around through the storage boxes, extremely maze like, very dark, and very scary :~ and then into the the other side of the garage. It was so fun to create and then scare people as they went through. It started a Halloween tradition that Brett will not let die. It was truly a Halloween not to be forgotten.
The End.

Brett goes to Golden...

Last Friday was the first night we spent apart since we got married. Brett went to Golden Colorado this past weekend to present his research at the American Physics Society. The conference was held at the Colorado School of Mines, a university an hour outside of Denver. We had to wake up at 3:30 in the morning so Brett could catch his 6am flight into Denver. He and four other graduate students from BYU went to the conference. Brett said there were alot of strange "folk", but I guess that's what you can expect from a scientific conference of this caliber. Saturday morning at 8am Brett presented his research at the Biophysics Symposium on the Electrostatic Properties of Biological Solutions. ( :) Just smile and nod.). Brett also helped himself to a Coors Light, since Golden is its world headquarters ;). Thankfully he is home safe and sound. :)

Fall Fondness

I love fall!! The trees outside our apartment are huge, old, and produce a TON of leaves!! Everytine I go out to my car instead of pushing off snow, I push off leaves. I love it!! This is my favorite time of year! The smells, the leaves, apples and caramel, candy corn, and Halloween!

Up...and then Back...

The icy, cold trail....
Me, my dad, Josh and Trevor with the snow covered mountain behind us...(Sorry for the poor sunshine positioning on the hill :))...

This morning my dad, brothers, and their priest group went on a hike to take on Mt. Timpanogos. Well...I got up at 4:40, got up to the campground to meet the crew, and we headed out. We got a little past half way before we met up with intense, cold, stiff snow. Needless to say we saw a life flight come in a little above us and guessed it was for a snow accident. Being smart and safe we decided to head back. All in all it was a beautiful hike and a great Saturday.

Sold!!

My "Owl Art" is coming to a Hip & Humble near you coming this next week in Bountiful and Salt Lake stores. This has been one of my favorite stores for the past 5 years. They are a great store with fantastic gifts and they are letting my lil' owls grace their wonderful presence. Yea! Thank you!

Babysitting for 4

This weekend Brett and I got to watch Kirt and Aprils (our aunt and uncle) 4 kids from Friday to Sunday while they were in California. It was such a blast! They are great kids and were so much fun. We went to the park and fed the ducks, played on the swings, had a lego war, played seek and hide, watched Star Wars and General Conference, and pretty much every other game you can think of. There was the 3 boys, Jake, Matt and Ben and one girl, Aubrey. They are wild and crazy with so many surprises but way sweet and fun. (I am not pictured above, but I promise I was there. :) )

Me vs. Great Harvest

Today I thought it would be a brilliant idea to make some homemade bread while I worked from home on my laptop. Well, it started with great ideas, warm fuzzy feelings, smiles, and feeling extremely domestic. Time went on...the bread was supposed to rise...and it still looked the same size. I gave it more time (mean while starving myself so I could eat some of this amazing homemade bread)...and I waited and waited. After 45 minutes of baking in the oven the bread came out and all dreams, wishes, and smiles were dashed. Another bad loaf. Hard, small, and ugly was my loaf. To keep a smile for the rest of the day I gave in and went to Great Harvest...defeated but my stomach was very content. I have a dream that someday I will defeat the buying of bread but for today...I will make another piece of yummy toast and call it good.
