Design That Makes Me Smile

Today I was thinking about all the things I'm grateful for. For those who don't know, I'm obsessed with design. I love it!
Please Enjoy :)
Beautiful :)
Wooden floors...a night stands that look like trees....colorful lamps full of light...a cozy sleigh bed...
A green kitchen full of fun cabinets...
God's colorful design...beautiful...
Meet Alice..she used to be old and she was made new....
Don't you wish you lived in a town where every building looked like this???
It makes my heart sing. (The Bertoia chair to the right is amazing as well...)
Another place I wished to live in...a place where you go outside in boots like this and an amazingly cute apron that was part of your everyday outfit...
Can't you just imagine your little girl getting into bed in her little bedroom where her little bed was nestled into a little nook in the wall :) ah...
Frank Lloyd Wright. Enough said.
The Pantheon. Give them credit, this is incredible.
The fireplace, the couch, the cute pillows, the amazing curtains...the roof and ceiling....ah..
The Macintosh School. It doesn't look like much, but the inside is truly inspired. A-mazing!
Robert McArthur.
I went in this home a couple years ago and cried. Cried. The little bedroom from above lies within this incredible home. The seperate garages, windows, wallpaper (yes, beautiful wallpaper!), small rooms, and design are...I'm speechless. I am without speech.
A blue cabinet...with red walls...
Little Green Notebook design...
Again Little Green is basically design on a dime but incredible! She inspires me.

I hope that you are smiling. :)

For the Love...

Read if you wish! :)

What are your middle names?
Brett's is Lee and mine is Rose

How long have you been together? We met March of 2008 and married December 2008.

How long did you know each other before you started dating? Well...basically about 2 weeks before we decided we were together...when you know, you know! :)

Whose siblings do you see the most? We see my siblings more, but we see Brett's siblings for game nights and visits on sundays that we love as well!

Do you have any children together? Nope. Someday!

What about pets? Not yet, but we want a dog someday!

Did you go to the same school? We both went to dear ole' Davis High.

Who is the most sensitive? Definitely me. I used to not be a cryer, but one bad dream and I'll be bawling.

Where do you eat out most as a couple? We don't eat out often, but when we do we usually go to Winger's for wings and sticky finger salad. Yum!!

Where is the furthest you have ever traveled as a couple? Espana!

Who has the worst temper? We both don't have much of a temper, but I have a lil more than Brett.

Who does the cooking? Me. Though I know he can cook. Hmm...

Who is more social? I am. Although, if Brett is warmed up to the people then he is a social butterfly!

Who is the neat freak? We both are. I got lucky and married a man that loves a clean house as well!

Who is the most stubborn? Hm....neither of us. Ha ha we're both pretty easy going.

Who hogs the bed? Brett does. Once I get out of bed in the morning he rolls over and diagonally he covers the bed. We don't cuddle once we're sleeping, but the blanket is a little fought over through the night. :)

Who wakes up earlier? It depends on the day. Both of us LOVE our sleep, so hearing an alarm disturbs us both greatly.

Where was your first date? I went down to Provo for a Miss Utah meeting and we met on Friday. We went to a BYU Pow Wow (That he went to for extra credit for a class.) and then he gave me a tour of campus. After we went to Wendy's and went to a park. We found a sweet pine tree that we climbed up and ate our food and talked for hours...SOOOO cute!

Who has the bigger family? Brett has 3 siblings and I have 4.

Do you get flowers often? I don't like Brett to spend the money we have on flowers, but the times I have gotten them I have loved it!!

Who eats more? Hands down Brett. He will eat a pizza right before we go to bed. He can put it away, and he still stays in great shape without working out....I'm so jealous of that...

Who sings better? Brett. I'm a terrible singer.

Who does the laundry? I do. It's convenient for me because I usually do it when I'm working at home.

Who is better with the computer? Oh goodness Brett is incredible. I am useless when it comes to Techy-stuff. It's so sad!!

Who drives when you are together? Brett. I love to just ride in the passenger seat and hold his hand. :)

Who picks where you go to dinner? We pick together when we do go out. It usually takes us a while to figure it out. We have a list of places we want to go before we leave Provo, so we are currently working on that list. Any suggestions?

Who is the first one to admit when they are wrong? We're actually good at admitting when either of us are wrong. We work well together.

Who wears the pants in this relationship? Brett is head of household, but we make decisions together.

Who eats more sweets? Uh...definitely me. I love sweets!

Who cries more? I do. As mentioned above...

Where did you honeymoon? First the Grand America, and then we escaped to Island Park near Yellowstone. We loved it and recommend it!

Favorite date night? Dinner and a movie...typical I know. We also love playing games together. Our newest game is called Coloretto. Try it!

Favorite TV show to watch together? We love the Office, Lost and Friends.

Love you all!! Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Funny Thing...

(A Picture from our Wedding Dinner in December...good times!)

Funny Thing...

1. How the Chevron on University Parkway asks if I want a Car Wash...but there's no car wash at that location.

2. How I bought a "seedless watermelon" and was surprised to find little black things inside....hmm...

3. How cyclists and runners own the road in Provo...they are everywhere!

4. How the 80-year-old woman sitting next to me at the endowment session the other day told me 7 times during the session that her "hose" were cutting off her circulation and she thought her toes were going to fall off....

5. How I thought I would never cheer for BYU...but here I am in Provo living in on-campus housing wearing a BYU football shirt for this saturday...Go Cougars! :)

6. How sometimes I get a silence laugh inside of me when the carpool lane gets stuck in traffic as well...

7. How I'm 22 and it doesn't feel as old as I thought it would...

8. How I should be working right now doing my "Call Monitoring" job at home but I'm blogging...

9. How our neighbors have a yellow tiled bathroom...I don't know about you but that's nasty.

10. How my primary has 4 kids...Joy, Grace, Samuel and Fernanda. (Two of whom don't speak english...)

11. How Thanksgiving isn't here yet, but I'm already done Christmas shopping!

12. How my in-laws sent Brett and me Spain candy the other day and we ate ALL of it in one day...more like 1 hour :)...mmmm....

13. How crazy people are...

14. How I mentally compete with others at the gym...seriously if the girl or guy next to me keeps running I feel I have to as well, it's great!

15. How I listen to people on the phone with my call monitoring job that are hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt and yet they want to buy a program that is $20,000+. Again...crazy people out there.

16. How excited I get to watch the Biggest Loser on Tuesday nights...

17. How excited I am for Brett to come home and for the Dustin family Thanksgiving next week!

Happy Wednesday :)

The Haunted Storage

Our Halloween :0

Zombie Brain Stew....

"Bone Daddy Breadsticks" and "Vampire Blood Beverage"...

Oh, the festivities! And sorry...no costumes...

Making yummy caramel apples...mmmmm.....

Brett about to jump out and scare the innocent civillians about to walk
by in his hockey mask and gear....And yes...a scary hanging santa...

The Maze...
We put Bob & Claire's storage room under the garage to good use this Halloween. We went up on Saturday to party with Katie, Steven, Laura and Matt for good ole' Halloween. We started the haunted evening with dinner (spooky! As seen above...), and then ventured to create haunted houses. Brett and I made a haunted storage in the massive storage space located underneath the garage. It wrapped around through the storage boxes, extremely maze like, very dark, and very scary :~ and then into the the other side of the garage. It was so fun to create and then scare people as they went through. It started a Halloween tradition that Brett will not let die. It was truly a Halloween not to be forgotten.
The End.

Brett goes to Golden...

Last Friday was the first night we spent apart since we got married. Brett went to Golden Colorado this past weekend to present his research at the American Physics Society. The conference was held at the Colorado School of Mines, a university an hour outside of Denver. We had to wake up at 3:30 in the morning so Brett could catch his 6am flight into Denver. He and four other graduate students from BYU went to the conference. Brett said there were alot of strange "folk", but I guess that's what you can expect from a scientific conference of this caliber. Saturday morning at 8am Brett presented his research at the Biophysics Symposium on the Electrostatic Properties of Biological Solutions. ( :) Just smile and nod.). Brett also helped himself to a Coors Light, since Golden is its world headquarters ;). Thankfully he is home safe and sound. :)

Fall Fondness

I love fall!! The trees outside our apartment are huge, old, and produce a TON of leaves!! Everytine I go out to my car instead of pushing off snow, I push off leaves. I love it!! This is my favorite time of year! The smells, the leaves, apples and caramel, candy corn, and Halloween!

Up...and then Back...

The icy, cold trail....
Me, my dad, Josh and Trevor with the snow covered mountain behind us...(Sorry for the poor sunshine positioning on the hill :))...

This morning my dad, brothers, and their priest group went on a hike to take on Mt. Timpanogos. Well...I got up at 4:40, got up to the campground to meet the crew, and we headed out. We got a little past half way before we met up with intense, cold, stiff snow. Needless to say we saw a life flight come in a little above us and guessed it was for a snow accident. Being smart and safe we decided to head back. All in all it was a beautiful hike and a great Saturday.

Sold!!

My "Owl Art" is coming to a Hip & Humble near you coming this next week in Bountiful and Salt Lake stores. This has been one of my favorite stores for the past 5 years. They are a great store with fantastic gifts and they are letting my lil' owls grace their wonderful presence. Yea! Thank you!
