Dreaming

I had a dream last night about our little boy that's currently growing inside me. Since I think about him almost all the time, it's no surprised that I dream of him as well. Last night I dreamed about delivering him at the hospital and taking him home with me and Brett. I dreamed about taking him on walks with me around the neighborhood and running with him in the rain. I dreamed about what he will look like and if he will have my blue eyes or Brett's brown eyes. I think he will have blonde hair since we both did, but there's always surprises. I think he will love legos like Brett did and want to play with his daddy everyday when Brett gets home. I think he will be adventurous and love to read. I can't wait to meet him and hold him in my arms. He is growing so much right now and moving all the time. I think he will be really active and love to play. I hope he will be like his daddy. (Come on, who wouldn't with that face?)

1. Strawberry Charleston Chews (I crave these every day ha ha thankfully I only allow myself 1 a week).

It's a Boy!

Today was an absolutely fantastic day. We started the day by taking a visit to the doctor, a much anticipated, exciting visit to the doctor. We got the big ultrasound and found out that on January 18 we are expecting a
BOY!!!!
To be quite honest I felt like it was going to be a girl after our last appointment. Surprisingly, in the last minute of the 30 minute ultrasound, he finally decided to show himself. I was very surprised but so, SO very excited!!! I was also excited to find out that I am actually 21 weeks this week (to those that have not been pregnant, giving a pregnant woman one more week off her expected waiting time is basically as good as Christmas). I cried when she said it's a boy only because it made it feel so much more real. Brett stood next me absolutely surprised and totally excited. I have been telling Brett lately how much it moves and how crazy it feels and he hasn't really understood. It was so fun to see him watch the baby move like crazy. He was really surprised to see how active our little guy is. He's going to be a jumping, energetic little guy just like his daddy. For me it was so amazing to see how developed he is. He has a heart with all four valves beating like crazy, a brain with all its components, kidneys, fingers, toes, bones, a cute little face and is so miniature.

1. My boys.
2. No work tomorrow and shopping with mom.
3. Cooler weather

What a wonderful day :)

An Engineer Forever

This is Brett when he was little playing trains with his dad and lovin it. (If it's a boy, I hope he looks like his dad, don't you love those eyes and cute ears). Brett's brother Michael came home to visit with his family and over that weekend Michael and Brett found this train set again.

Once an engineer....always an engineer. No wonder he's doing his phd in Electrical Engineering.
1. Dinner at our neighbors, yea for not cooking!
2. Cabin with my family this weekend.
3. Made it through a 60-hour work week last week.

I Surrender

Great Harvest is better than me in many things.
1. Bread making.
2. Cinnamon Pull-Apart Making.
and the most important
3. Sandwich Making.

OH my goodness, I just love them. I crave their turkey goodness and their free cinnamon pull apart that comes with it and absolutely melts in your mouth making me and the baby crave more. This is the only thing I crave. I will surrender. I admit defeat.

Thank you Great Harvest, you made my day.

1. Brett
2. My hot husband
3. Falling asleep on my husband at 11:30 when I'm too tired to talk.

Being Prego...Thus Far

Before I was pregnant I heard women rave about how wonderful it is to be pregnant. That they feel so cute, sexy, healthy, and an overall sense of extreme joy.
I don't.
I feel joy only in knowing that in January we will have a baby of our own and I am so excited to be a mom and for Brett to be a dad.
When I was sick in the first trimester, my first journal entry started with "this will be an only child...". Thankfully my sickness is over and life is good and maybe someday, someday we will have another child.
Being pregnant is so different than I thought it would be. Everyday is a different adventure. Some days I feel absolutely huge, whale-like if you will. Other days it seems as though our little one hides somewhere inside me...maybe it loves hide and seek...I have no idea. I have felt it move a couple of times. It was last week when I traded a girl at work a chemical peel for a massage and after I got up from the massage it felt like the baby jumped from one side of my abdomen to the other! In a very soft, gentle way of course (It's only about 7 inches tall...)
Some of the funniest things about being pregnant are:
-going to the bathroom 3 times during the night
-zonking out when bedtime comes because I'm so tired
-waistbands of pants getting tighter
-realizing that the kid throwing a tantrum in the supermarket...could someday be this baby
-weeks are so much slower....40 is an eternity away
and just getting excited to be a mom. I'm so excited and scared.

1. Lake Powell next week!
2. Finals!
3. That I am not into the prego pants yet...I just don't know how I feel about those elastic waistbands yet...
