Weekend Photos

Yesterday we went to the BYU game and we won!! Not by very much, and yes we almost lost it, but still we won!!! It was raining cats and dogs when we left our apartment but the rain parted for most of the game. It was really fun.

Also, here is a picture from our witches party. It was such a blast!

October

some random october thoughts as of late:

last night we had our first girls night halloween witches party. it was such a blast!! i will have to post pictures later. kylee hosted at her beautiful home and at dinner said i was the biggest at the table. we made jokes about it the rest of the evening. we played games, ate wonderful food, caroline tied me up like a mummy in toilet paper, and then we sat and talked and talked....i love my girlfriends. i miss them already.

brett is sleeping in the other room. yes, it's 10, but he waited for me to get home last night, which was very late. he also did the dishes while he was waiting, isn't he the sweetest? gotta love him. guess who woke me up? yes, the little man. he was moving the most he ever has this morning. i couldn't tell if he was angry or just having a good time, but enough to wake me and it made me so happy.

i'm getting more afraid of labor and delivery. it seems like every time it comes up someone has a terribly horrible story and shares every detail assuring my insides that it's going to be awful. i bet it will be. i bet it will hurt really, really bad....but at least at the end of it we get to take our son home and enjoy him. :) i can't wait!

more than any other time of year fall makes me the happiest. the leaves outside our door are yellow and my car is directly under the biggest part of the tree, thus every morning it is covered in leaves. i love it!

today is my first saturday in months that i don't work. it feels magical. work is really getting to me. it makes me so sad. i love my clients and i love working on skin everyday but, seriously, i'm losing it. not losing it with what i do there just with the people that work there...and that's as far as i'm going to go with that because i don't know if any of them read this....i don't think they do, but you can never be too careful...

tomorrow is the primary program. i hope it will work out. we have 2 primary children and basically a million nursery children. the nursery kids are singing all the songs with us and i'm pretty sure that it's going to be the lifeless children that don't sing alongside with me singing all the words to follow the prophet...it's gonna be awesome...

a couple weeks ago one of my favorite little girls from our ward, bailey, was talking to me after church was over. her dad came to pick her up and said that they were going to go home and make their beds and help daddy do the dishes. she turned to him and said, "but daddy i don't want to, it's just not my favorite thing". SO cute!! i love little kids. i can't wait to hear what comes out of our little guys mouth.

thanks to katie, brett and i are attending the byu football game today. we are so excited. i really hope they win because it's turning out to be a rather pitiful season. go cougars!

i love life right now. i'm so excited for our son to come. i love feeling him move inside me, especially when he gets the hiccups. it's so cute! i love this time of year and i'm so happy i'm pregnant during this time. there's halloween, thanksgiving, christmas and my sister is coming out with her family in december to january. i think these last couple months are going to fly by and that makes me so happy! we finished putting the crib together last night, finishing it off with a couple more blankies, a stuffed moose, and a beautiful crib skirt that my mom made. thanks mom! i will post pictures of that as well. we're so excited!

1. my sister holly and the adorable things she sent me!!

Dinner and a BYU Tour

This last Friday was such a blast! Bob and Claire came down to explore the land of Provo with Brett, Katie, Steven and me. We first met at Texas Roadhouse and enjoyed a scrumptious dinner.

The gang...

After dinner we took a grand BYU tour to show Bob and Claire where Brett, Katie and Steven spend their time during the week at school. Above is Brett and Bob at his graduate desk.
This is the room where Brett spends most of his time, aka home away from home. All of his experiments are run in this room on the machine in front of us.
Brett explaining his research to us...
Katers and Stevey....
We also gave a grand tour of our humble abode. Above is our new couch. We absolutely love it!!
The End.
Yesterday was fun. I always love Sundays when I get to hang out all day with Brett. I am working on honing my cooking skills, which is quite the ordeal. I made bread last night and then left to a temple fireside. I left Brett in charge of putting it in the oven and baking it. I was happily surprised to come home and find that he had taken it out at the perfect time, it was delicious!
We are so excited for our little boy. We haven't decided on any boy names, they are hard! We want a solid boy name, you know one of those boy names where you know it's a boy and not some cutesie name that a cute burnette girl in his 3rd grade class would end up having as well and then he would be scarred for the rest of his life...That's the kind of name I'm talking about. Any suggestions?

1. Watching my aunts kids this weekend with Brett.
2. Wonderful weekend.
3. 14 more weeks!!!!!!!!

25

25 Weeks
I never thought that I would put a picture of me pregnant on here, but today by myself I decided that for journal keeping purposes I would post a prego pic. Yes, I feel huge!!! I still can't fathom that I am going to continue to get larger. On Saturday I had my first stranger ask me when I was due and it made me so happy! At least I look pregnant and not just like I have a huge gut. On another note, this last weekend was so fun!! I love relaxed weekends, especially conference weekend! I loved it!!! Elder Uchtdorf and President Monson are my favorites. When I hear them speak I feel the spirit testify that they are true prophets of God and it always feels like their talks are directed towards me. In honor of President Monson's sweet talk yesterday about gratitude I want to mention 10 things today that I'm truly grateful for.

1. We got the crib set up and I can't wait for our little boy to arrive!
2. Sundays with Brett.
3. Fun painting day with my mom last Friday.
4. Our jobs and our opportunity to go to school.
5. Conference weekend at Uncle John's home, such a great tradition.
6. Family, both me and Brett, my family and Brett's. We are so blessed!
7. It's raining!
8. Only 15 more weeks to go being prego!
9. The gospel of Jesus Christ.
10. Wonderful friends.

23 x 3

This year I had such a fantastic birthday!! It was my "extra" golden birthday because I turned 23 on the 23rd on the 23rd week of pregnancy. Woo! Brett went the extra mile on my birthday and made it a truly wonderful day. He woke up and made me delicious crepes with strawberries. Then I took Brett to school and went down to Salt Lake to go baby shopping with my mom. I always love spending shopping days with her, we always have such a good time. We found fabric to make a quilt for my little one for his crib and got some really fun extras for his room and crib. I can't wait to set it up!! We went to lunch and had a wonderful time, thanks so much mom!!

After I got home I went and picked up Brett from school. We went to the Olive Garden for dinner, which I LOVED, and it was so fun. I love that I married such a creative and fun man. He made me a crossword puzzle and the words were inside jokes between us. I had to find the words before dinner came in order to get my first present, which thankfully I did because it was an ipod shuffle!!! I was so ecstatic! I have wanted an ipod again in my life for so long. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and then went and got frozen yogurt.
This is me with my loot. I got 3 Charleston Chews, an amazing white watch, a pink ipod, earrings, and a cute sweater. Brett did such an incredible job!! Thanks so much honey :).
The next day we joined my family at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner for my birthday. Sadly I forgot to take a picture but it was so fun! Plus, the dinner was delicious. All in all it was a wonderful birthday. I couldn't ask for a better husband or a better family.

1. a wonderful birthday!
2. when brett feels out little guy kick.
3. my birthday presents!

Dreaming

I had a dream last night about our little boy that's currently growing inside me. Since I think about him almost all the time, it's no surprised that I dream of him as well. Last night I dreamed about delivering him at the hospital and taking him home with me and Brett. I dreamed about taking him on walks with me around the neighborhood and running with him in the rain. I dreamed about what he will look like and if he will have my blue eyes or Brett's brown eyes. I think he will have blonde hair since we both did, but there's always surprises. I think he will love legos like Brett did and want to play with his daddy everyday when Brett gets home. I think he will be adventurous and love to read. I can't wait to meet him and hold him in my arms. He is growing so much right now and moving all the time. I think he will be really active and love to play. I hope he will be like his daddy. (Come on, who wouldn't with that face?)

1. Strawberry Charleston Chews (I crave these every day ha ha thankfully I only allow myself 1 a week).
2. The stair stepper at the gym.
3. Cooler weather.

It's a Boy!

Today was an absolutely fantastic day. We started the day by taking a visit to the doctor, a much anticipated, exciting visit to the doctor. We got the big ultrasound and found out that on January 18 we are expecting a
BOY!!!!
To be quite honest I felt like it was going to be a girl after our last appointment. Surprisingly, in the last minute of the 30 minute ultrasound, he finally decided to show himself. I was very surprised but so, SO very excited!!! I was also excited to find out that I am actually 21 weeks this week (to those that have not been pregnant, giving a pregnant woman one more week off her expected waiting time is basically as good as Christmas). I cried when she said it's a boy only because it made it feel so much more real. Brett stood next me absolutely surprised and totally excited. I have been telling Brett lately how much it moves and how crazy it feels and he hasn't really understood. It was so fun to see him watch the baby move like crazy. He was really surprised to see how active our little guy is. He's going to be a jumping, energetic little guy just like his daddy. For me it was so amazing to see how developed he is. He has a heart with all four valves beating like crazy, a brain with all its components, kidneys, fingers, toes, bones, a cute little face and is so miniature.

1. My boys.
2. No work tomorrow and shopping with mom.
3. Cooler weather

What a wonderful day :)

An Engineer Forever

This is Brett when he was little playing trains with his dad and lovin it. (If it's a boy, I hope he looks like his dad, don't you love those eyes and cute ears). Brett's brother Michael came home to visit with his family and over that weekend Michael and Brett found this train set again.

Once an engineer....always an engineer. No wonder he's doing his phd in Electrical Engineering.
