Lincoln Lately

Oh Lincoln...where do I start?  Here's what Lincoln does lately:
LOVES to be outside...When we come home from anywhere he basically has a meltdown once the door closes and he can't get outside...
 Falling asleep in the car...
Usually he falls asleep like this though...he has a serious attachment to this blankie...
Loves the swings at the park....
 Total cheeseball...
Loves to walk in circles with the stroller...
Our favorite park is Nelson's Grove down the street...lots of ducks, grass, and swings!
He loves to pretend like he's big and go up and down the playground...
Love that face...boogers and bruises and all...
That dimple just makes me melt..
Happiness for Lincoln is found in the dirt...
Other things he LOVES:
pears and cheese (very french ha ha)
cars (loves to push them around our apartment)
books
walking
stairs
food in general
dirt
eating rocks
tubbie time (in the morning after breakfast I get him out of his high chair and say "tubby time" and he walks to the tub and starts to take his pants off...)
loves to sing songs

Love this little man and so grateful he came to us.  Although he's wild we love and adore him and are so grateful he's here.

Easter!

Easter weekend we went up to Bob and Claire's and celebrated with them.  Sadly we couldn't see my family because they were in California.  It was great to go to church and actually get to really listen to the Sacrament talks while Bob volunteered to take Lincoln.  I'm so grateful for the Savior and his sacrifice.  It is such a blessing to have the gospel in our life and have the knowledge of the Savior and what he has done for us.

 (Family Easter Picture)
Lincoln was watching Baby Einstein while we peacefully ate dinner.  Although we meant for it to entertain Lincoln, I think it entertained everyone else as well...

Conference Weekend

Conference weekend was wonderful as always.  Thursday Brett, Lincoln, and I left for the airport to drop Brett off so he could fly to Chicago.  He had a wonderful time with Katie and got to be with her on her birthday.  While he was gone I stayed at my parents and had a great time.
On Friday my mom and I went to City Creek while Lincoln hung out with Grandma Claire.  Thank you so much Claire for babysitting Linc!  Mom and I were able to grab a delicious lunch at the cheesecake Factory and then go shopping.
City Creek was so awesome!  Love that we have such a fun mall in Salt Lake now.
Trevor couldn't have been sweeter to Lincoln.  He played so much with him and read him books.  He is such a great uncle!
On Saturday Laura and I went and saw the Hunger Games and loved it!
Isn't he the sweetest little guy you have ever seen?!
Lincoln spent hours and hours going up and down the stairs and finally mastered them!  He can turn himself around and crawl down now.  He is a pro!
Brett loved being in Chicago and loved the food too!  Katie's birthday was the weekend he was there so he got to go to dinner with her and her friends to celebrate.  I love their hats!

During conference at Bob and Claires we finally got Lincoln walking around.  Since then I will catch him trying to walk around after hoisting himself up with the wall, a toy, or a chair.  Any time now he will be a full time walker!

Walkin'

So on Thursday Lincoln was playing with the doorknob and mirror in our room and I took him out, not realizing that he had turned the lock inside.  Thus, the door was officially locked with no key or ability to bobby-pin open the lock.
Brett, being the handyman he is, chipped away at the doorknob and eventually destroyed it, opening our door. Yea Brett!!!  Such a handsome handyman :)
Our weekend rocked.  Friday night I planned a date for Brett and me.  I got a coupon on groupon for Smashburger so we enjoyed a scrumptious burger dinner.  We seriously love that place!  The food is so amazing.  Lincoln loves the fries there too!
The rest of our date included reading to Lincoln and putting him to bed (ha ha romantic I know ;)), watching Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arch (Brett's all-time favorite movie), and giving Brett a foot massage.  Brett works so hard for us he deserved it!
.
On Saturday morning Brett, Linc, and I headed to Rock Canyon Park where we went running and then enjoyed the wonderful weather and grass.  Lincoln loves it there.
And Lincoln took his first steps!!!  He walked about 3 steps by the couch and then sat down. So far that's about his record and we're so proud of him!
On Sunday we went back to the park and laid on the grass while Lincoln pushed the stroller in circles for a long, long time.  He loves being outside.  When we came home from the park we closed the door and Lincoln started crying and crouched in a ball and cried.  It was the saddest, cutest thing I have ever seen.  He loves the outdoors!

St. George!

Last weekend was Trevor's baseball tournament down in St. George for his Utah Monarchs team.  Trevor, dad, mom, and I drove down to St. George on Thursday.  When we got down there we went to the St. George airport and picked up Holly, who flew in from Seattle.  It was so great to see her!
When we got there we saw the Blue Angels flying in the sky and we were so excited!  They put on quite a show over the baseball fields Trevor was playing at.   They were so awesome!

Trevor pitched and played left field and was a great batter!  On Thursday his team won 2 of 2 games!

I love this picture...Trevor is talking strategy with the catcher...
 Getting' ready to bat...
On Friday morning we went to breakfast at the Bear Claw and it was seriously a great breakfast.

Mom got really yummy oatmeal and it was a little bigger than she expected...
And my french toast was absolutely divine...
The weather was so pleasant and it was so fun to sit and watch the games.  The first game we won!
The second game was against Snow Canyon, the team that took first last year in the tournament.  At the beginning of the game we found out that they recruited a 263 lb, 6'3" 12-year-old to pitch.  He pitched about 20 mph faster than our guys and really intimidated our team.  As you can see in the picture below, he was a "little" bit bigger than the rest of the guys...sadly we lost to them.
On Saturday we shopped a little more (thanks to Trev and Dad for putting up with us shoppers) and drove home.  We stopped in Kolob Canyon and it was breathtakingly gorgeous!!!
All in all it was fantastic trip!  It was so fun to be with my family, watch Trevor play baseball, and be childless for 3 days.  A special thanks to Brett and Claire for watching Lincoln.  It was so wonderful to have a small break and play.

Lincoln-isms

Lincoln is so fun lately.  He recently had his one year appointment and his stats are as follows:
Weight: 75%
Height: 95%
Head size: 99.8%

Yeah, in terms of head size he has the gold medal.  Here are some fun things about Lincoln as of late:
LOVES Goldfish...
Is obsessed with all things boy-wheels, propellers, and books...
Is absolutely obsessed with the swings at the park...
He gets SO happy on the swings!!
Naps in the car on the way to Nana and Papas...
Watching cookies bake in the oven...
Again, the park.  This time in a more contemplative mood...
Every day after I pick up Brett from school we go down the hill and on to Bulldog Avenue.  There is a place called "Fat Cats" with bright lights and these awesome lit-up balls high up in the air.  Every day he cranes his neck and pushes himself up at just the right time so he can see it.  He has done it every time we pass it for months now, it's so cute!
Enjoying some cookies!  When he really likes what he is eating he says "mmmmmmmm...."
The cupboards are obviously hilarious...
The other morning after Lincoln's nap, Brett and I started saying "Luche, Luche baby!".  It's a family joke with my side of the family and Lincoln just started to bust up laughing.  Check it out...

As you can see we adore this little man.

1. Luche, Luche Baby!
2. Big heads.
3. Lincoln turning on the Xbox and the TV lately...he is so smart!

Cheating

For the most part Lincoln is pretty much happy ALL the time.  We babysat our friends baby the other night who is the same age as Lincoln and you can tell that Lincoln is definitely the happier child of the two....
But, over Christmas break, Deven caught this sad face of Lincoln.  Lincoln was napping and I was holding Alaina and talking with Deven and Andrea.  My dad came up the stairs with a just-woken-up Lincoln ready to see me.  Instead of seeing me waiting to greet him, he was greeted by me with another baby.  Yes, cheating on him with another baby.  The tears came instantly and the anger was deep.  Thankfully we recovered and are now on good terms again.
