(the movers)

A few weeks ago, my dad and brother Deven came down to Provo to help us move and it was much appreciated!!!  My dad brought down his big trailer and it only took 2 trips!!  Talk about muscle men :) 

 Pretty much everything we own right there...

 It was so great to have their help to move to our new place.  We are still setting up our apartment and with a week long cruise in the caribbean we are still a little set back, so pictures to come soon!!!

The Y

A couple of weeks ago, Lincoln mentioned that he really wanted to hike the Y. ;)  So, we went!  It was so fun to hear him ooo and ahh all the way to the top, he absolutely loved it!!

 He was so fascinated by the scenery and he really loves to be outside.

 Needless to say, I think the hike was a little harder for me than him. :)

moving.

Well, you read the title right.  We. are. moving.  

Yes, we are leaving the cinder block walls of Wymount Terrace, BYU Student Family Housing, aka the rabbit hutches.  

We are sad but excited!  We found a cute place in Orem with 500 more square feet, a washer and dryer, air conditioning, and space for an actual kitchen table that's not in the kitchen, and only 20 dollars more a month. :)

 We have lived here since we got married in December 2008.  We have loved it.  For those that don't know about Wymount, it was built in the 50's.  Some of my favorite things are:

 the blue tiled bathroom, complete with handicapped bar in shower, and sink that stands alone (as in, NO counter).

 and our little office/nursery.  

 We really will miss it so much.  It is a pretty funny place to live, but we really have loved it.  One thing we won't miss is the heating.  My mom described the sound of our heating like this, "It's like camping in a windy canyon".  Yes, it is really, REALLY loud.  The tv has to be turned up when the air comes on, and if you're asleep when it turns on, you most definitely will wake up.

Et cetera...

On Friday Katie graduated from BYU!!  It was so fun to see her since she has been away working in Chicago.  

 Lincoln was cold outside and hid in Grandpa's jacket.  

 After we went to Happy Sumo and enjoyed some delicious sushi.  I missed sushi so much when I was pregnant, it was a wonderful treat!

 Lincoln is getting so fun.  He is so much more interactive.  He loves his little play gyms and plays in them all the time.  

 Being a mom is the best!!!!

 Easter sunday we went to church with Brett's family and had a yummy lunch together before Katie, Steven and Bob left.  After lunch we headed to my parents and had a fun Easter dinner together with lots of my extended family.  I love weekends spent with our families!!  We are so blessed to be around our family and get to see them so often.

Tubs

 Lincoln recently was given this awesome whale tub from Staci.  He LOVES it!  He wiggles his legs with amazement as the water moves around him and he never knows what to do with his arms.  

I just love being his mom.  He is so adorable and he is getting so big!  I love hanging out with him all day.

This last month I haven't posted much at all, mostly because I have just been busy.  First, I scheduled a visit to my lovely dermatologist (since having a baby definitely helped me hit my deductible) and found that I had a couple really bad moles.  One was on my lower calf on my left leg, and another on the back of my upper right leg.  The doctor took biopsies on both and found that both were cancer.  After a long week of not knowing what was going to happen, I went in and they surgically removed the one on my upper right leg.  The one on my left calf thankfully had been fully removed by the biopsy.  The one they had to remove was rather large, 5 mm tumor with a 2 1/2 inch incision.  Thankfully both were Basal Cell Carcinomas and they are both gone now, leaving me with a scar and more sun screen in hand.  :)  But, how ironic for an Esthetician to get skin cancer, right?  

Anyway, this is not a big deal, but for posterity's sake I wanted to post that I finished my Associates of Science degree from UVU last fall and graduate this friday.  I took a couple classes last year during the summer and two in the fall to finish up my generals and am so happy I did.  I have had a rather interested college life, but I really am proud of myself for all the work I have done so far in school.  I'm so happy to have something that shows that I finished my generals, for now, and maybe someday I will go back and do Architecture or Dietetics.  I am also happy that I have my Master Esthetician License.  I thoroughly enjoy skin care and helping people to feel their best in their own skin.  I have so much enjoyed helping friends and family feel confident about themselves (even my dad lets me work on him, and he likes it :)).  It really brings me so much happiness to help other people and use a skill that I love so much.  Yea for graduating and education!!

Conference Weekend

 This conference weekend we packed our bags and headed north.  On Friday we enjoyed a fabulous dinner with my side of the family (unfortunately I took zero pictures...I need to get better!) at Roosters.  SO yummy! We stayed the night and enjoyed some time with them before they headed to Florida on Saturday.  Saturday we spent the day at the Mellors enjoying fabulous food and listening to the prophets.  I loved conference and I can't wait to re-listen to them and read the conference ensign.  Here are some pictures to document our good time.

Today I went and took lunch to Brett at school.  He got in the car and after I parked he just kept smiling and I was wondering what was up.

After a minute he said,

"Guess what?"

"What?"

"I found out this morning that my second paper got published!"

"No way!!!!!!!"

I was so happy I teared up.  His paper entitled, Electrode Polarization of Galinstan Electrodes for Liquid Impedance Spectroscopy, was accepted and we couldn't be more excited!!  Great job honey!  Thanks for working so hard!
