Our new adorable niece Candace!!!! She is so beautiful. Congrats guys!
This last week of our lives have been full of changes.
1. First, Brett has decided to switch from being a Masters student to a PhD student. Pretty big and crazy change. His research professor has urged him to do so and he will finish only one year later than we planned. So, we are planning to leave Provo in April of 2012. We're really excited. We didn't expect this but Brett is so good at Electrical Engineering and he really enjoys studying it so it just makes sense to us. I'm so proud of him. He works so hard.
2. Second, which isn't even nearly as big or excited but still, I don't have to do my call monitoring job anymore!!!!!!!!!! This bring such joy into my life I can barely stand it. The company I was working for was pretty shady. I just listened to the calls that were made at the company by their sales team and made sure that they didn't lie to the customers. (Thus, I felt okay about working for them). They let me borrow a laptop and I would just listen for about 20 hours a week from my apartment. Well, this last week something amazing happened. I signed into their system and to my wonderful surprise the system said that it "didn't exist". I called my boss and he said that the company had to close because the Better Business Bureau shut them down. That = me getting unemployment and me keeping the laptop that they let me borrow. Ya!!!! Plus it came on the perfect day. When Brett came home that day I was crying and telling him I couldn't listen anymore, and poof! The job is gone....crazy....So, now I just have two jobs. The two jobs I love. Life is so good.
3. Third, which is even a smaller deal, but I'm going back to school this summer for just a few credits to receive my Associates of Arts. I have wanted to do this for a while now and so I'm going to do it. It kind of stinks because neither BYU nor UVU have the program that I want, but at least I can grab my associates for all the work I have done so far. It's pretty weird because I'll only be 34 credits away from my Bachelors, but I won't be able to receive it in what I want. I really want to get my Interior Architecture degree someday but it's just not an option right now. It's not a big deal at all but at least I won't have to do classes I have already done again later.
4. Fourth, Life is so good. I don't usually talk about deep feelings on this blog, but I have been thinking a lot lately about what God wants for us and how he really is in control. It has been hard lately to know what God wants me to do. I applied for a job this last week that I really, really wanted. I got there at 2 in the afternoon and they had hired a girl that had walked in 30 minutes before me. Bummer. I really wanted that job and I didn't get it. It really made me sad and grumpy (Thanks Brett for being so patient with me :)). But, now a couple days later I know that I wasn't meant to get that job and other things will happen that are better for me. God is aware of us! And I'm really grateful for that.
1. Sunday Mornings.
2. No more calls!!!!!!!!
